چکیده
We discuss domain walls from spontaneous breaking of Abelian discrete symmetries $Z_N$. A series different wall structures are predicted, depending on the symmetry and charge assignments scalars leading to (SSB). widely-existing type those separating degenerate vacua which adjacent in field space. denote these as adjacency walls. In case that $Z_N$ terms small compared with $U(1)$ terms, SSB generates strings first then bounded by generated after For larger than $Z_3$, non-adjacent exist, we regard them non-adjacency These unstable if is a good approximation. If broken via multiple steps, arrive at complex structure one kind wrapped another type. On other hand, directions independently, chains blind each other.

Stability of domain walls coupled to Abelian gauge fields
Rozowsky, Volkas and Wali [1] recently found interesting numerical solutions to the field equations for a gauged U(1)⊗U(1) scalar field model. Their solutions describe a reflection-symmetric domain wall with scalar fields and coupled gauge configurations that interpolate between constant magnetic fields on one side of the wall and exponentially decaying ones on the other side. This corresponds ...
متن کاملNon-Abelian Webs of Walls
Domain wall junctions are studied in N = 2 supersymmetric U(NC) gauge theory with NF(> NC) flavors. We find that all three possibilities are realized for positive, negative and zero junction charges. The positive junction charge is found to be carried by a topological charge in the Hitchin system of an SU(2) gauge subgroup. We establish rules of the construction of the webs of walls. Webs can b...
متن کاملLocalization of Non-Abelian Gauge Fields on Domain Walls at Weak Coupling (D-brane Prototypes II)
Building on our previous results (Ref. [4]), we study D-brane/string prototypes in weakly coupled (3+1)-dimensional supersymmetric field theory engineered to support (2+1)-dimensional domain walls, " non-Abelian " strings and various junctions. Our main but not exclusive task is the study of localization of non-Abelian gauge fields on the walls. The model we work with is N = 2 QCD, with the gau...

متن کاملDegeneracy of non-Abelian quantum Hall states on the torus: domain walls and conformal field theory
We analyze the non-Abelian Read–Rezayi quantum Hall states on the torus, where it is natural to employ a mapping of the many-body problem onto a one-dimensional lattice model. On the thin torus—the Tao–Thouless (TT) limit—the interacting many-body problem is exactly solvable. The Read–Rezayi states at filling ν = k/(kM + 2) are known to be exact ground states of a local repulsive k + 1-body int...
